To compliment this diverse and talented bunch we have put together an equally cosmopolitan group of judges with a distinctly American feel.

Dan Dunn – American drinks writer supreme and friend of Martin Miller’s Gin, Dan is the author of “Nobody likes a quitter and 10 other reasons to avoid rehab”. theimbiber.com

Jon Santer – Martin Miller’s San Francisco brand specialist, Jon is also the head of the US bartenders guild San Francisco and set up the legendary Bourbon and Branch in San Fran.

Martin Miller – the man himself, needs no introduction

Jeffrey Morgenthaler – renowned drinks blogger and bartender from Oregon. His recipes and words of wisdom have appeared in Wine Enthusiast, Playboy and Imbibe. jeffreymorgenthaler.com

The Competition itself will have a simple three round format.

Twisted Gin & Tonic
Competitors are asked to use their imagination to give us a variation on the classic British drink. Anything goes, so long as the bartender can demonstrate there is a link with the original G&T. Sorbets, jelly’s and redistilled gin with quinine extract have all featured so far!

Classics
Each competitor will be asked to pick a classic Gin cocktail from a hat. They need to wow the judges with their bottomless pit of knowledge and impeccable technique in reproducing the drink. To give competitors a heads up, their drink will come from the following list:

Martini
Clover Club
Singapore Sling
Aviation
Martinez
Gin Fizz

Gin & Tonic speed round

1 minute. As many G&T’s as humanly possible. Done.

After the judges have cogitated and digested, they will declare one overall winner (second place is first last!) who will receive a brand spanking new apple macbook courtesy of Martin Miller’s gin.

See you all there.
